Scope of our practice includes the following:

• Advising and consulting on Data Protection and Technology Laws.
• Assisting clients with assessment and compliance with Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
• Assisting in data protection impact assessments and data transfer impact assessments, including involving cross-border transfers.
• Conducting data protection due diligence in the context of mergers, acquisitions and other corporate restructuring.
• Crisis management and risk mitigation.
• Drafting and negotiating agreements involving technology, data privacy and telecommunication law.
• Drafting policies, procedures, and protocols for implementing important data protection and information technology obligations.
• Incorporating best standards and practices including those under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), UK-GDPR, Personal Data Protection. Act (Singapore), and other leading laws and regulations.
• Representing clients before appropriate regulatory and statutory authorities with regard to information technology, sector-specific regulations and data protection law.

• Advised a leading financial services platform in assessing legal implications of a ‘Super App’ including data protection, privacy and intellectual property issues and assisted with drafting of relevant agreements.
• Advised a leading seller of automotive components on the legal framework and requirements associated with processing of public or traffic data in light of the Geospatial Guidelines and other data privacy requirements.
• Assisted a leading manufacturer of electric scooters with due diligence relating to data protection and technology laws in relation to a fund raise transaction.
• Assisted a leading manufacturer of electronic components and sensors with impact of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, transfer impact assessment relating to transfers of personal data into India, legal framework concerning collection and processing of different types of sensitive information.
• Assisted a leading online fashion brand with comprehensive data protection and information technology due diligence exercise as part of a vendor due diligence matter.
• Assisted a leading online fashion brand with conducting a comprehensive due diligence exercise with regard to their operations from a data protection and privacy perspective, including analysis of the collection and processing of personal data, including on their website.
• Assisted a plant science company engaged in research and production of seeds with due diligence relating to their operations from a data privacy and technology law standpoint.
• Assisted a video surveillance equipment manufacturer in assessing compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and end-to-end compliance implementation in line with the DPDPA including developing policies, agreements and procedures thereto.
• Assisted Divo TV Private Limited and its promoters in selling stake to Warner Music India Private Limited with due diligence from a technology and data protection standpoint, and with closing conditions associated.
• Assisted Educational Testing Services in its acquisition of the Assessment and Remote Proctoring Business 'Wheebox' of PeopleStrong with the due diligence aspects and review of transaction documentation from a data protection and privacy standpoint and assessing compliance under applicable technology laws in India.
